this post has gotten quite long so i decided to break it up into at least two sections.
i hope it doesnt come across as rambling.
i should start with a confession: it was my smurf that walked out of the kingdom hall in the early 80's.

i was when i had an affair , but this elders pioneer daughter told me she understood why i had done it , i was feeling dreadfull and so guilt ridden but he said i should through myself at my hubs feet and beg forgiveness from him and had i lived 2000 years ago i would have been stoned to death !
the strange thing is a few years later this elder told me he had feelings for me , but he was married and old enough to be my dad , although i liked him as a person by then and had forgotten what he had said to me about being stoned to death, i was a bit annoyed that he told me not to tell anyone ,and yet was telling other people to tattle tale on others , i know he felt really bad about his feelings though and i did feel sorry for him , but asked him not to visit anymore as it made me feel guilty towards his wife , maybe it was gods way of getting him to see things from a wrong doers point of view ,as he had a reputation for being very harsh on wrong doers (like myself) maybe he makes a better elder nowadays after that insight , or maybe they think i was sent by satan to seduce a pioneer and an elder !
No, I actually haven't heard of this before!! How awful it would be to hear this. I thought this was supposed to be a loving organization? Total BS. I can just see it though, people think they are privledged to be a part of this org. so that take this as "loving councel" and work really hard to be back in Jeh's favour. Please, what a joke!

my little sister called me just now.
exciting news - stop the presses - her husband has been made an elder.
she is 27 and he is 26... is that not a little young to be an elder?
My step brother is 23 and well on his way to being an elder any day now...it's a friggin joke!!

been thinking and painting today.. anyway, my mind started wandering and settled onto this: being born in has made me more understanding of people since i woke up from the cult.
i came here, met a bunch of other born-in peeps who immediately understood.
we have all kinda branched out in different directions.
I completely agree Dinah!

this goes along with my dumb things to get dfed for....thread.. i was pretty lucky and i was a good boy for most of my 52 years in the "borg.
" just a few brushes with the boys in the back room.. don't you just love their line....."so tell me brother...is their anything else you should to tell us about?
we have been talking to your friends".
I used to get in trouble for the dumbest things. Like my skirt was knee length and the elders felt it should be past my knees. Talking to a brother in my hall too much at school (there weren't many witnesses, couldn't hang out with "worldly people" so who am I supposed to talk to?). Stuff like that. Totally dumb and totally petty. Didn't they have anything else to do?!?
MMO
i have to admit when i am wrong, so here goes.
my family is the same as every other.
just as lowdown, greedy and liars to the core.
Yikes! I am sorry for you.
I can relate...my mom asked me to be the executor of her will. Last time she did her will (before she got re-married) I agreed and when I had seen the will I realized that my brother and I who left the borg got nothing and she left EVERYTHING to my JW brother. Everything. Even though she wanted ME to be the executor. So, this time when she asked me to be the executor of her new will I said I would no problem but it had to fair to everyone. She said she would get back to me with the details and I haven't heard from her ever since. I did ask her about it once and she said she had someone else look after it. So, I guess I got my answer...

in the cbs/ap it's reported that "only 37% of those born into the sect remain members.
" it also said that jw is the fastest growing religion with the worst retention rate.
i guess it's that they appear attractive long enough to baptize the people, then they lose them.
Well me and one of my brothers left...one more sibling to go!! Wish me luck...

http://www.slideshare.net/deeeteee/a-message-to-jehovahs-witnesses.
it's just a basic slideshow presentation, but i think it might be the first slideshow on slideshare about jehovah's witnesses.
i got the idea from the recent threads about the do not call list.
Excellent! Well done!
